Marketing Officer

Reporting to our Marketing and Communication Strategist, you would need the ability to prioritize your workload as you develop, coordinate, and report on marketing and communication projects. Your superior organizational skills would be an important part of developing and producing advertising collateral and marketing materials. Your previous experience in an ad agency or marketing department would come in handy as you make sure ads meet our brand standards, or as you track budgets and financial reporting of projects/campaigns. This role also supports College Advancement events, and other duties as required – and we’d be thrilled if you also know how to use Wrike or similar project management tools.

Here’s how you can expect to spend your time:

  • Work with internal clients to develop and execute promotional advertising and/or collateral, including traditional and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Media Planner and internal clients to meet campaign goals.
  • Manage marketing projects (including institutional publications and internal digital TVs) to make sure timelines are met.  
  • Ensure quality and brand standards are met for all internal and external marketing materials contributing to Bow Valley College’s positive brand and reputation. This includes proofreading, content accuracy, and obtaining appropriate approvals as outlined in the marketing brief.
  • Support the Director in management, tracking and reporting of the departmental budgets.
  • Support the Creative Services and Newsroom teams in coordinating photo and video shoots.
  • Upload and/or submit ads and print materials to meet media and project deadlines.
  • Assemble marketing estimates for approval, arrange for printing of materials, organize volunteers for institutional events and other duties as required
  • Support the Marketing and Communication Strategist in the development of Marketing Briefs to meet recruitment goals.
  • Update and maintain photo and creative database.
  • Maintain all marketing materials, such as logos and images, within BVC’s the online repository.
  • Liaise with the Director to develop departmental or executive presentations as required.
  • Other duties as required.
Job Requirements

At minimum, you’ll need to have:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent organizational abilities and administration skills

(An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered)

 

We would prefer you to have:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience in Marketing & Communications/Advertising
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in scheduling, ad trafficking, preparing reports, and managing project files and intellectual property
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate self and team members in completing tasks in the required timelines 
  • Excellent organizational abilities and administration skills
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Experience working in an environment with demanding, multiple competing timelines
  • Experience in digital marketing
  • High level, professional, and responsive customer service
