Marketing Coordinator

McLean Hallmark Insurance Group Ltd. is one of Canada's largest Independent insurance brokers with 120 employees in 4 offices across the GTA and Kingston. McLean Hallmark has wide product offerings in personal insurance, business insurance and a number of niche insurance brands.

The selected candidate will work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create, implement and measure marketing campaigns and strategy with the goal of driving sales results. They will work on a wide range of materials including print, web social media, PR, advertising, and other vehicles.


  • Social Media
  • Manage Facebook and Twitter accounts within the brokerage including copyrighting, sourcing content and posting
  • Use of Google Alerts to research trending topics to use for content sharing and to monitor the brand conversation online
  • Track social media reach, impressions and conversation rates using Google Analytics and built-in analysis tools on Facebook and Twitter, adjusting social media techniques as required to identify target audiences
  • Ensure social media strategies are current and relevant through ongoing assessment of emerging trends in industry and online.
  • Graphic Design
  • Edit, design and create all marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite for Mclean Hallmark Insurance Group including design / visual design for print, web and digital audiences
  • Understanding of file types and formats
  • Build templates in Microsoft Word and Excel for various departments
  • Writing
  • Researching and writing content for the corporate website and blog posts
  • Writing press releases and internal communications documents
  • Proofreading and editing with high level attention to detail
  • Enforce brand standards through use of company style guide with all employees
  • Website Management
  • Assisting with implementing new website strategy for 2017
  • Updating website content
  • Assisting with implementing new corporate internal Intranet
  • Wordpress, HTML and CSS an asset


1. Education, Licensing and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant experience with an agency or corporate communications department or similar volunteer work.
  • A post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in communications, marketing, advertising, writing or business

2. Core Competencies and Personal Attributes:

  • Able to work cooperatively in a small team environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Creative with extraordinary attention to detail

3. Technical Competencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite of programs, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other similar software
  • Experience managing social media accounts for businesses or not-for-profit organizations
