The Web Services department at MacEwan University is currently seeking a motivated, energetic individual for a Web Graphic Designer position. This position is responsible for the design and creation of graphics for the MacEwan.ca website and other online presences. The designer is a member of the Web Services department and works closely with the other team members, contributing to project plans and ongoing development of web design items.
The successful candidate will be able to translate high-level business and functional requirements into elements for web display, maintaining design standards and drawing on knowledge of design principles, UI/UX design and best practices regarding design for responsive websites. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience in problem solving and decision-making, ability to interact professionally with stakeholders and team members, and experience working in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate must be well organized, able to prioritize and complete tasks in a time-sensitive manner and able to work in a busy team environment. Familiarity with managing aspects of a project is an asset. Must be highly skilled in InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, scanning software and font management.
Applicants must have a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field. A minimum of four to five years of graphic design employment is required, including work on web and print publications
