Editorial Graphic Designer
Mediaplanet Canada is seeking an intermediate/experienced freelance graphic designer who specializes in editorial print design.
The position requires the designer to work in-house on an ongoing basis with several projects per quarter. Candidates must be able to work within our Toronto office during print production periods (3 concurrent days)
The freelance editorial designer will work closely with the Lead Designer and Project Manager to design content marketing campaigns from start to finish. These campaigns are printed within leading Canadian newspapers and magazines such as Toronto Star, Macleans’ Magazine, National Post, etc.
Candidates must own and use their own laptop with Adobe Creative Suite installed and ready to use.
The ideal candidate works well under pressure with short deadlines and quick turnaround times, operating as an individual as well as part of a team with the ability to problem solve quickly and collaborate. Must be highly organized with an eye for detail and have great communication skills via email, phone, Skype and in person. Print production experience is a plus. Strong typographical skills and ability to work with editorial layout templates are essential.
- Strong editorial and layout design skills (2+ years experience)
- Must be advanced in InDesign and Photoshop
- Own a working laptop with Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong knowledge in typography
- Must be flexible to work within scattered production weeks
- Able to work collaboratively
- Efficient under pressure and tight deadlines
