We have an exciting opportunity on our Social Team for a Community Manager, working on the HGTV Canada and Food Network Canada lifestyle brands.

Community Manager

Division: Communications/Social
Work Status: Full Time
Location: Toronto, Ontario

About the Role

Reporting to the Social Strategists, you will help to build and engage with the audiences for some of Canada’s leading social brands, across platforms. You have a passion for media, social content, home and design, food and drink, and enjoy creating, building and being part of a dynamic team and industry.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Build our communities, create fandom and drive engagement & conversation with our brands.
  • Manage content calendars and execute social strategies across social platforms.
  • Content creation, including video editing/production.
  • Real-time optimization of content.
  • Research and proactively recommend ideas and new content for our brands.
  • Compelling, creative, and on-brand copywriting to engage audiences.
  • Broad understanding of social data and analytics.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and algorithm changes to inform approach and drive performance.
  • Education of key stakeholders on best practices, specs and other considerations as needed.

About You

What We Need From You:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years experience managing large social audiences, where media & entertainment experience is preferred
  • Experience in content management/publishing tools (Spredfast, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.)
  • Videography and photography experience (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Independent and self-reliant, but is a team player and comfortable with training others
  • A passion for television and social media
  • Agile, nimble, flexible
  • Previous experience with paid social an asset
