Bert Church Theatre is currently recruiting for visual arts professionals in various capacities for both adults and children. This role will be responsible for teaching classes on a sessional basis. The successful candidate will be an accomplished visual arts instructor with a passion and dedication to the growth of visual arts in the City of Airdrie. There is the potential for future programming opportunities and we look forward to ideas from potential instructors.
The responsibilities of a visual arts instructor include creating fun and engaging classes and workshop for children and adults including painting, drawing, book binding, wine and paint night workshops etc. for the community of Airdrie.
Deliver high quality visual arts classes to our customers
Motivate and inspire confidence in participants
At least 3 years’ experience and demonstrated skills teaching within the area of specialty (visual arts)
Candidates with university training in performing or visual arts will be given priority
Experience in the development of programs and program outcomes/syllabus
Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and AED required (upload copies of certification with online application)
Skilled in the design and facilitation of performing and visual arts programs
Proven background in providing exceptional customer service
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Mature and reliable
Excellent communication, leadership, organization and problem-solving skills
Outstanding dependability, initiative, creativity and decision-making skills

This competition is for part time (casual) visual arts instructors for daytime, evening and weekend classes. This position will start in January 2019.
