Face Painter & Temporary Tattoo Artist

The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 108 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $48 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best we can be.

We are looking for talented artists to join our PNE Team and help us create a memorable experience for our guests. This role will be working with guests of all ages, and plays an important role in promoting an engaging, creative and fun atmosphere during the Playland and Fair season at the PNE!

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

What will you DO this year?

In your role as a Face Painter and Temporary Tattoo Artist, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Exhilarating and fun-loving culture
  • Providing quality application of detailed face painting and temporary tattoo designs
  • Providing professional guest service, and working with guests of all ages
  • Operating sales terminal systems, and handling cash payments
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work station
  • Working well in a fast-paced environment
  • Performing other duties and follow safety procedures as required

What else?

  • Previous work experience in a customer service related role; comfortable interacting with guests face-to-face and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Artistic background, such as education, work experience and/or interests in the arts
  • Previous painting and airbrush experience an asset
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work outdoors and spend a large part of the workday walking and standing
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts from June – September including day-time, evenings, weekends and late nights
  • Sucessful candidates must undergo a criminal record check
