Media Specialist

The Media Specialist provides a host of media services to staff and students, through consultations with clients, and the creation of still photos and video presentations. Staff and students are oriented to the effective use of audio visual equipment and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 to 3 year post-secondary diploma in television production or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 3 years recent experience providing audio visual services to a medium to large corporation.
  • Advanced skill level in Non-linear editing platforms.
  • Advanced skill level in a variety of computer graphic and presentation applications: Powerpoint, Adobe PhotoShop , Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of audio visual equipment: video and digital cameras, computer projectors, scanners and non linear editing systems.
  • Aptitude for creative solutions and technical problem solving.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor with superior oral and written communication skills with demonstrated grammatical aptitude, good spelling and punctuation.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to set own priorities and work with minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides audio visual services by consulting with clients, producing still photographs and all video production, editing and duplicating.
  • Orients staff and students to the proper use of audio visual material and equipment.
  • Provides advice, guidance and creative solutions to ensure an innovative and effective audio-visual service.
  • Produces audio visual programs by taping, editing and dubbing.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and service warranties are kept up-to-date.
  • Maintains inventory control of equipment and related supplies.
  • Serves as coordinator for the CCTU system and the patient television service at the Charlton campus.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures work area is maintained in a safe and presentable way at all times.
  • Meets deadlines in assisting with special projects, administrative functions, and educational activities.
  • Obligation to review and commit to applicable departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

HOURS OF WORK:
Monday to Friday, days

WAGE RATE:
$25.85.... $26.97 ... $28.07
