Associate Film & Video Production Support

This role provides critical support to the corporation as well as to producers and studios selecting Manitoba as a production destination. In this role, the Associate will act as a conduit to key programs including the Manitoba film & video production tax credit, Manitoba Film and Music funding programs and film commission services. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Analyst, Film, Television and Tax Credits and work closely with others on the film department team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a client first attitude, an orientation to detail and the ability to self-prioritize.

Examples of duties:

Film & Video Production Tax Credit (co-administered with CRA):

  • Advise and assist clients on eligibility, documentation requirements and application status
  • Receive, review and process application packages
  • Assist with the administration of deeming provisions in concert with unions, guilds, governing bodies and applicants
  • Ensure appropriate records and statistics are complete and accessible for analysis and reporting

Film Funding Programs:

  • Advise clients on program details, requirements and application status
  • Receive, review and record details of application package
  • Prepare reporting as required for the use of film program analysts

Film Commission Services:

  • Assist with script breakdowns, location scouting efforts and permit applications as required

General Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the promotion of the support and services available
  • Actively participate with the broader Manitoba Film & Music team on strategic projects focused on sustaining a vibrant Manitoba film industry


  • Successful completion of a university/college degree; or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Proficient with contemporary software programs such as the Microsoft Office suite of tools and the ability to quickly adopt the use of industry-specific programs
  • Expertise with using web-based tools, online calendars and cloud-based platforms


  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Adaptable to change and quickly pivot in response to new priorities and situations

Salary: $29,328.00-$35,792.00 per year
