Digital Marketing & Events Coordinator

The Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers (OPVG) is a non-profit grower organization based in London, Ontario.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on carefully laid plans and agendas for events in 2020, it has presented us with an opportunity to grow our social media reach, and explore new ways to hold key events.

We have an exiting opportunity for a part-time Digital Marketing and Events Coordinator to join our time for an initial four-month contract beginning in early 2021.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Enhancing our social media presence, contributing and managing contact on social platforms and responding to inquires.
  • Bringing events online, for example the Annual General Meeting; ensuring smooth delivery of the event and coordination of technically.
  • Developing new virtual events, coordinating speakers, resources required, registration and technology.
  • Thinking out side of the box with developing YouTube videos and exploring other options for connecting virtually.
  • Creating templates, content and setting up distribution of emails in the emailing platform Constant Contact.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced and Educated. You bring experience as a social media coordinator, marketing coordiantor, or events planner, who has led and executed professional virtual events. A degree or diploma in Marketing or Communications, is preferred.
  • Technically Savvy: Advanced editing abilities and digital presentation skills is required, along with proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and CRM; applications for email marketing, content management, analytic and digital advertising.
  • A Communicator and Collaborator: You thrive on the experience of communicating in a professional environment. You’re recognized for your ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
