Social Media - Marketing Specialist


We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to work with us on a 90-day project to consult and execute a Social Media Project Plan.


Project Goals

  • To create a strong brand presence on social channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Meet Up) and event marketing platforms (Eventbrite) including followers and engagement
  • Increased participation at our weekly information session- 20+ individuals per session
  • Create a community of DevOps professionals interested in Site Reliability Engineering
  • Conversion of 15 prospects into customers in Sep-Nov acquired through social, community paid campaigns


Scope of Work

  • Understanding of our ideal customer profiles (ICP) and selecting channels that are most suitable to the said ICPs
  • Creating multi-faceted strategies for various consumer-facing channels
  • Content creation that is relevant to such community including, blogs, social media posts, and interaction with platform followers
  • Creating and managing online events focused on information session, skilling up and career change. Promotion of said events across platforms and validating and iterating hypothesis around ICPs
  • Social media on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms across the digital stream
  • Public Relations with the aim of acquiring visibility for North Up across various relevant media
  • Analytics to track and measure website and social media engagement


Skills Required

  • A degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing or related field may be required.

  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube is essential.

  • Knowledge of Hootsuite or similar programs to manage online postings on different platforms.

  • Proficient in Google Analytics and other social media analytics tools

  • Proficient with Canva and familiarity with free pic sites such as Unsplash

  • At least two years' experience managing social media platforms.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of marketing trends and techniques.

  • Superb time management skills.

  • Function collaboratively with internal sales and content marketing specialists

  • Deep Understanding of the strategy required for each of the Social Media Platform and plan accordingly for building and growing the community.

  • Deep understanding of Organic vs. Inorganic Growth plan. Keep Cost per Acquisition low.
