Job Description

TDT is seeking an effective communicator to join the team as Manager, Corporate and Foundations. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for research, writing and stewardship of TDT’s current and prospective corporations and foundations base. You are a compelling writer who will contribute to building and stewarding relationships in the dance and philanthropic communities.
This is an exciting time to join the company as TDT embarks on a new artistic chapter with the start of Andrew Tay’s tenure as Artistic Director in 2020. The Manager will have the opportunity to engage in the strategic direction of the company from the ground up and directly contribute to the evolution of the company over the following year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research and identify funding opportunities from foundations and corporations that align with TDT’s mission and activities
  • Write proposals and solicit funds from foundations and businesses, focusing on growth of the current portfolio
  • Cultivate and steward new and existing relationships
  • Create and manage a calendar of foundation and corporate asks and deadlines
  • Support the Managing Director and Artistic Director as needed with public sector funding proposals
  • Other duties as assigned

Given the current health guidelines, this will be a work-from-home position until further notice. The role is part-time, with the potential to grow in scope during TDT’s next season for the right candidate.

With a passion for the arts, you have a few years of experience under your belt, ideally working within an arts and culture organization or similar. You instinctively understand the value of relationship building with prospective and current stakeholders, and you are driven to grow those relationships for mutual benefit.
The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and interest in fundraising, proposal writing, community engagement or equivalent;
  • A track record of developing compelling written proposals with successful results;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications with the ability to speak to a range of audiences;
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage projects effectively on schedule and on budget;
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, knowledge with CRM databases an asset;
  • Flexible can-do attitude with a willingness to jump in where needed;
  • Works independently while collaborating effectively with the larger team.

How to Apply:

The role is initially a one-year contract with the possibility of extension. The role will start as a part-time commitment up to 3 days a week, with the potential to become fulltime once the company is able to resume regular activity post-pandemic.

To be considered, please send a cover letter and resumé by email, no later than Monday January 25, 2021, outlining why you are the right candidate for the position. We thank all applicants in advance, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
