Evening Call Steward

NABET 700-M UNIFOR represents over 3,000 Film, Television, and New Media Technicians in the province of Ontario. 

Job Description

  • Crewing of shows (sending technicians to worksites)
  • Tracking which members and permittees are working on different shows by reviewing daily call sheets
  • Helping Keys and Productions find suitable crew members
  • Email correspondence to members (ie., 48-hr email notification, availability lists, etc)
  • Monitoring and analyzing member availability levels for each department
  • Recording availability of members and permittees in the database
  • Implementing permit policy, tracking and following up on violations, responding to permit requests and educating members about the policy
  • Assist in permit violation investigations
  • Create new file folders for upcoming Productions and filing of correspondence
  • Restocking of office supplies/equipment for staff
  • Assistance to evening meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned



  • 2 - 5 years of Customer Service and Dispatch Operator experience
  • High school graduate; Post-secondary education preferred
  • Punctual
  • Pleasant telephone manner with a friendly disposition
  • Experience in operating a multi-line telephone system with up to six (6) lines
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Active listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with others in a collaborative environment and work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Computer savvy with proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Data entry skills
  • Reporting skills
