Your role 

The Senior Specialist will work closely with the Senior Director to ensure the long-term growth and success of the distribution activities by supporting the development, evaluation and implementation of partnerships and projects.  

The Senior Specialist will be responsible for ensuring cooperation of multiple stakeholders on strategic distribution projects. The Senior Specialist requires a strong knowledge of the content and television distribution industry, and will remain up-to-date on the latest content, technological, business & strategic developments shaping the industry, providing unique perspectives on existing challenges, working on new solutions. The incumbent will work with internal clients to ensure the seamless advancement of projects, while providing best-in-class customer service for business partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring coordination and implementation of new projects & partnerships including: rigorous and timely advancement of Distribution’s strategic projects, liaising with internal stakeholders and ensuring the internal alignment of initiatives. 

  • Assisting the Senior Director on strategic files and negotiations: preparing and evaluating new business opportunities, participating in the development of business models for new products & partnership business and participating in various meetings, providing insights, analyses and making recommendations.

  • Ensuring close relationship with Finance team members, reviewing, forecasting and modelling business opportunities, providing analyses, taking a variety of things into account, including, but not limited to, environmental factors and industry knowledge 

  • Gathering and providing business intelligence, competitive and market analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions. 

  • Performing and/or commissioning research and analysis with regard to expansion opportunities, emerging technologies, players, market trends and competitive dynamics.

  • Preparing high level presentations and documents, used to communicate priorities, initiatives and deals.

  • Generating periodic report.


We are looking for a candidate with the following: 

  • University Degree in Communications, Management, Media, Arts or a related field.

  • Minimum five (5) years of business-to-business sales or distribution experience / account management, together with five (5) years’ experience in the media industry

  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem solving abilities.

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the digital media industry, of the cable, satellite and Telco industries, emerging technologies, regulatory environment, etc.

  • Excellent relationship building/client management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Bilingualism (French & English) is required.

  • Experience in contract management and negotiation.

  • Demonstrated capability to communicate with confidence, clarity and persuasiveness to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive demands and prioritize rapidly changing needs.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing and managing legal documentation.

  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking in developing situations.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with an ability to negotiate at all levels within the Corporation are critical. The ability to deal with the public and clients with tact and diplomacy is also required.

  • A team player, easily able to work with members of the department, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Superior knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
