Reporting to the Senior Director, Creative and Brand, CBC, the Director, Creative; Marketing and Communications is responsible for providing strategic creative direction for CBC, English Services, ensuring a consistent, and cohesive brand experience for the audience and the organization. This individual ensures strategic Creative objectives align with Marketing & Communications goals and objectives as well as the overall CBC Business strategy. You will work with product and marketing teams to successfully communicate, evolve and execute a strong brand framework that showcases CBC as a leader in design and brand. You will build a creative organization that strives for collaboration and innovation. You are a crucial component of our company growth through your contributions on strategic brand positioning, campaigns, content and employer branding.



  • Establishing CBC style guides and brand consistency
  • Responsible for our setting the standard for our visual identity across all of CBC (Logo, colour scheme, design system)
  • Leading cross-functionally internal creative services team, designers and relationships
  • Successfully communicate our brand strategy and process and lead cross-functional meetings to align teams
  • Creative thinking and strategic execution. You will be asked to think outside of the box, and partner with our product and marketing teams on brand and creative strategy
  • Recruit and retain top design talent, and meet regularly with designers to promote career development and growth.
  • Be accountable for the output and quality of your team’s work and having an impact on the business.
  • Lead the development of innovative design solutions by driving design-led exercises and explorations.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • 10-15 years of professional work experience in conceptual creative/content development and/or a related field as either a copywriter or art director
  • 5+ year experience leading a creative team as either an associate creative director or creative director
  • A strong interest in brand design and brand focus
  • Staff management and operations experience
  • Advanced communication skills - written, verbal, digital
  • Good knowledge of brand marketing
  • Knowledge of industry’s trends, technology, guidelines
  • Detail-obsessed with a keen eye for typography, composition, and color application
  • Experience expressing a brand identity across a range of channels and campaigns
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills—proficient at building a narrative around your work and guiding stakeholders through the creative process
  • Demonstrated experience in working with leadership to help make strategic and key decisions in a complex setting, Experience in leading change management
  • Excellent time management, organization, analytical, problem solving, and listening skills
  • Flexible work style and ability to adapt to diverse teams and requirements
  • Demonstrated experience making commitments, setting priorities, and delivering results on time
