Knowledge Network’s Director of Programming

Do you value universally accessible, commercial-free, community supported public broadcasting? Are you an experienced television/streaming platform programming or distribution leader looking for the next big challenge? If this resonates with you, we would love to hear why.

We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to lead Knowledge Network’s highly successful programming team responsible for licensing all domestic and international children’s, documentary, factual and drama programming. This team includes our primetime and children’s programmers and our original documentary producers responsible for Knowledge Network commissions.

Ideally, you have 15 years or more of experience programming for or distributing to television networks and streamers. Public broadcasting experience is an asset. You are well-informed about the independent production community, worldwide program markets and industry trends and have extensive contacts with international buyers and sellers. You will oversee the Programming team for the daytime and prime time schedules and will take the lead in curating the programming for Knowledge’s streaming apps and websites. You are a natural team leader.

As a member of Knowledge’s Management Team, you will participate in strategic planning and decision-making and work on cross-departmental initiatives. You will collaborate with the Brand team to promote seasonal marketing priorities, and with the Development team to assist in annual fund-raising campaigns. You will report to the President and CEO.

Knowledge Network is an equal opportunity employer committed to respect and diversity in everything we do. We invite applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous Peoples, individuals with disabilities, persons of all sexual orientation and gender identities, and all people committed to meaningful work that makes a difference.

We are a crown corporation, funded by an annual operating grant from the provincial government and through donations from over 47,000 Knowledge Partners. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and professional development opportunities.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, at the right time in your career, send us a letter explaining why and what you have to offer Canada’s most community-supported public broadcaster. Please include your resume/CV.

We’d love to hear from you at, by May 31, 2022.
