We welcome applications from members of visible minorities, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, persons with disabilities, persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities, and others with the skills and knowledge to help provide a diverse range of perspectives and lived experiences.

The role

  • You’ll be using your ingenuity, determination, and exceptional writing skills every day to help us craft the public communications that will be instrumental in achieving our policy objectives.
  • That includes attention-grabbing tweets, compelling op-eds in national media, dynamic presentation decks for decision-makers, and major research reports that change how people think about climate policy.

  • Pitching Clean Prosperity’s policy messages to journalists
  • Developing and managing communications strategies and plans
  • Keeping our communications work organized, and coordinating external service providers
  • Occasionally, support tasks like planning events, producing webinars, and drafting fundraising applications
  • Skills and experience needed
  • We encourage you to apply if you meet most, but not necessarily all, of the following criteria:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience
  • Demonstrated high level of comfort with at least three of the following five fields: climate, energy, economics, business and finance, politics and government
  • The ability to assimilate complicated ideas and explain them to others in an accessible, compelling way
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, especially the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and persuasively
  • Great social media skills, especially on X and LinkedIn

  • Fun to work with!

Location, hours, and culture

  • We are a virtual team — you are welcome to work anywhere in Canada. You will have a home office budget to ensure that you have a comfortable and effective setup.
  • We keep standard working hours, but are much more concerned about results than about how you organize your time. We are a family-friendly organization: staff have flexibility in how they schedule their working hours.
  • Even though we’re virtual, you will interact regularly with the team. We hold weekly staff meetings, virtual happy hours, and two in-person staff retreats per year.
